If Ghadab Is Attributed To Allāh Then It Is Referring To The Non-Acceptance Of Those Who Disobey Him And His Punishment Of Them

The scholars said that anger is the opposite of acceptance and so it is said “So and so is angry at so and so.  Therefore, anger when attributed to the creations it is something that penetrates their hearts.  Some types of anger are praised and some types of anger are dispraised.  The dispraised type of anger is the anger that is unjust and the praised type of anger is what was on the side of the religion and on the side of the truth.

The term “Ghadab” when it is attributed to Allāh then it is His punishment upon whoever disobeyed Him.  Allāh is cleared from resembling humans in any of their attributes.  Allāh is clear from being attributed with emotions.

The meaning of the statement when we say we seek refuge with Allāh from the Ghadab of Allāh is we seek refuge with Allāh from the things that are from the traces of the Ghadab of Allāh, that is, we seek refuge with Allāh from what Allāh made unlawful because the unlawful is a reason to be tortured.  So what is meant by the one who says I seek refuge with Allāh from the Ghadab of Allāh is I seek refuge with Allāh from doing the unlawful which is a reason to receive the torture of Allāh and it does not mean that we seek refuge from the attribute of Allāh which is His Ghadab.  That is an eternal and everlasting attribute of Allāh, The Exalted.
